Princess and Wranglers
Cave Creek Rodeo Days is excited to continue our Princess and Wrangler youth program. This is an opportunity for young cowgirls and cowboys to participate in parades, community service events and educational opportunities. This is a year round program celebrating our youth and western heritage! Our Princess and Wranglers attend quarterly events to keep the fun going! Attendance is optional to any scheduled event. There is a limit of 15 Princesses and 15 Wranglers per Rodeo year.
Who should apply to be a Princess or a Wrangler:
Anyone ages 5-15 who want to:
- be a representative of Cave Creek Rodeo and the town of Cave Creek
- promote western heritage
- portray good sportsmanship, and high moral and ethical character
- act, speak, and dress according to the prestige of his/her respective title
- be of good moral character
- not use any alcohol, illegal or controlled substances
- have parents willing to sign and follow our Parent Code of Conduct
Season Dates – January 2025-October 2026
Age Requirements – 5yr to 15yr
Children under 8, need to be accompanied by a parent.
Children 8 and up will be a 1:4 ratio of chaperone to children.
**Your Princess or Wrangler will not ride a horse during any event. Horsemanship skills are not required.
Residence Requirement – This year we are taking applicants who reside in the following zip codes: 85087, 85086, 85331, 85377, 85262, 85266, 85024, 85085, 85083, 85310, 85027, 85050, 85054, and 85308.
Required Events – CCR Rodeo Parade, 1 night of CCR Rodeo or Mutton Busting. Two Community Events, Three Social Events
Initial Cost – $100.00
Renewal Cost – $50.00 (uniform items replaced are an additional charge)

Princesses receive a sash, hat tierra, and Cave Creek Rodeo Princess buckle. Wranglers receive a CCR hat pin and Cave Creek Rodeo Wrangler buckle. All Princess and Wranglers receive a Cave Creek Rodeo logo patch for their shirts and a Wild Rag in rodeo colors. Parents need to supply a white western long sleeve shirt, western jeans, a western belt, boots, and a black hat to complete the uniform. The uniform items provided have a value of $125.00 and is subsidized by a generous grant from Kiwanis supporting our youth program!
Our first event will be the Cave Creek Rodeo Days Parade on March 22nd in Cave Creek, Arizona. We will have a float in the parade for all the Princesses and Wranglers to ride on, followed by volunteering at the Mutton Bustin’ event on March 23rd at the Cave Creek Memorial Arena.

Application Process:
Applications can be submitted online September-October 31, 2024. Potential Princess and Wranglers will fill out forms and pay $100 for new applications and $50 for returning applications. Our team will review the applications and choose the 2025 Princess and Wranglers. If you are not chosen, you will be notified and your application fee will be refunded. The new team will be announced at the end of November 2024.
